Weird turns

IVF, as a pregnancy assistance method, isn’t simple or easy. It’s extremely complex and still only about 65% successful.

We found out neither of the embryos we implanted decided to hang on.

Which bummed us out. We were very excited for twins.

So, we aren’t pregnant. And we’re working through that. Somehow in the midst of the news and working through it, we had the presence of mind to make an offer on a home in Idaho.

Away.

I’m not really a country boy.

I’m not really a rural person. But I feel like I’ve made a lot of moves that direction over the last few years.

I have a deep desire to be out of debt.

I really want to have the freedom to pursue whims, passions, and deep dives. (Having debt ties you to things that really don’t matter.)

We want to focus on the marrow of life. We don’t want to struggle trying to keep up with the basics (or the Joneses (although the Jones family next door to me growing up was pretty awesome)). We want to be intentional. To focus on only what matters.

We want the few things we have to be excellent. And we want to follow that intention ourselves.

More is less.

Less is more.

It’s a journey (as the subtitle of the blog constantly reminds me). It will take time to get there. But we intend to use that time well.

So if this were easy, what would it look like? Buying a house, tripling our land, halving our square footage, moving 400 miles, and reducing debt by 75%.

All in one move.

We’re not pregnant. But we will be. Just not for a bit. It’s time to reset ourselves.
