What is it about illness and vacations that convince us it’s ok to abandon our good habits?
Every time I get sick, I pretty much abandon every good habit I have and return to all the bad ones.
Vacations do the same, although they tend to encourage the abandonment of disciplined eating and exercise. (Which also are heavily impacted by illness.)
I’ve been both ill and taken a vacation recently.
And found my morning routine upended by each.
Perhaps that’s the key.
