My tendency has always been to go from point A to point B by the fastest and most efficient path possible.
If something were likely to make me late, that thing was avoided or ignored. The destination was the most important thing.
I have a journey to make. If I leave now, I’ll arrive in 6 hours.
But there is a place I want to visit first.
Which is out of the way and it doesn’t open for another 90 mins.
Which means if I go there, I won’t get to my destination for at least 8 hours.
Most of my life, I’d forego the visit and just leave now. Arriving early is always better than arriving late.
Today I’m going to visit. Today I’m going to spend an extra two hours before leaving.
I’ll accept the experience, rather than just focus on the destination.
