I’m not really good at the long term. I’ve lamented enough about that here and commented several times that eventually that need to change.
I conceived a project about 5 days ago, and I just finished it.
I spent most of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday evening, and a quick bit of time Wednesday morning on it.
And it’s done.
And off my mind.
But it brought me a lot of joy. It happened to involve a lot of reflection and remembering.
I very much enjoyed that.
But having things time-constrained was quite nice. By doing so, I avoided getting carried away by (1) scope, (2) perfectionism, (3) overwhelm.
Work till it’s done. And it was conceived to be done quickly.
I happened to be several years removed from the experiences that were being documented (and I had a lot of documentation (and not much space)) so I also got to consume a lot and then summarize into a very limited area. It helped me focus on the most important things.
