I’ve been sitting on this one for a few weeks. We entered the lottery for distribution a few weeks ago. Before that we had a several week push where we were working for hours late into the night.
I dropped everything I was doing to balance myself in order to make sure I was working and focused. And I think that was bad.
Publishing a video game is a marathon. It’s a long, long process and I’m a sprinter. Tortoise and hare don’t quite apply because in reality the tortoise would never make it to the end.
I’ve long considered the need to begin moving to more endurance-based workouts. But time always seems to be the issue.
- I don’t have time
- It takes too long
- I want to ride 30 miles, but it’ll be dark before I finish
- It’s already dark, no time to exercise
All of these get in the way. Individually they are enough to derail me from exercising and being more balanced. Together they render me catatonic.
So something’s got to change. I need to enact it, and it needs to matter. It needs to be doable on a consistent basis.
